With time, a person suffering from Parkinson’s disease loses all his senses and cannot control his body movements. It was first known as shaking palsy.

Common symptoms are organ failure, imbalanced gait, uncontrollable hand movements, writing disabilities, and difficulties in cognitive functioning.

The disease might also lead to dementia and memory loss. Apart from all the symptoms, the most common symptoms experienced by every Parkinson’s patient are tremors. Let’s find out what a tremor is.

What’s a Tremor?

When a specific part of a human body, such as the hands, starts moving vigorously and the patient has nearly no control over his movement, we might say that he is suffering from a tremor.

Usually, it is observed that during a tremor, the patient’s hands, legs, voice, and even the entire body noticeably trembles. The patient might experience contractions or muscle spasms.

A person suffering from Parkinson’s can experience a tremor while lying in a bed or relaxing on a couch. This means that his entire body is in a calm and relaxed state. This kind of tremor is called a pill-rolling rest tremor.

Contrary to this, a tremor can occur when the patient is trying to perform an activity such as holding a glass of water or a magazine. This type is considered action tremor. There is another type of tremor known as postural tremor.

A patient experiences it when his body is held against gravity, such as in a position where he is holding a tray or a book in his hand.

It is noteworthy to consider that tremors can be caused for multiple other reasons as well. If you have Parkinson’s tremor, you need to go and see a doctor who will most probably recommend an MRI, CT Scan, or DaTSCAN.

Causes of a Parkinson’s Tremor?

The main reason for a Parkinson’s trimmer is usually an insufficient level of dopamine in the brain. They are the main reasons for the production of dopamine.

But it is generally viewed that most people suffering from Parkinson’s experience tremors at certain stages. In most patients, it starts from the hands and then spreads to the foot of the same side and with time to the rest of the body.

Causes of a Parkinson's Tremor

If the disease progresses, it might worsen, affecting the lips or jaw. In some cases, it is viewed that patients suffer from an internal tremor that is not visible to others; however, the person suffering experiences it internally.

Parkinson’s tremors are usually treated in the same way as an external tremor is treated.

Though tremor is just a symptom of Parkinson’s and not the main cause, however, in some patients, it becomes extremely dominant.

The shakiness of their bodies becomes uncontrollable, and other symptoms become least important.

Moreover, a tremor condition intensifies if the patient is experiencing a stressful situation. The tremor might go away as soon as the patient comes back to his normal calm state. Furthermore, some medications sometimes do not prove to be compatible with the tremor.

Tranquilizers such as anti dizziness, anti-asthma, anti-depressions, and epileptic drugs can potentially make tremors worse. So if that is your condition, we recommend that you need to see your general physician before consuming any medication.

Some other causes of Parkinson’s tremor might be excessive use of alcohol, an excessive or overactive thyroid, panic disorder, Mercury Positioning liver or kidney failure, or other brain diseases.
