Foods To Eat With A Broken Arm

You may have to adjust how you sleep, change and button a shirt with one hand, figure out a way to take a shower without getting the broken arm wet, and the most annoying of all, figure out how to eat with a broken arm?

It can be a severe challenge. Especially if you don’t have help, knowing what to eat may make it much easier for you to stay well fed.

If you’re facing the same challenge, here is a list of uncomplicated foods you can eat despite the limited number of hands at your disposal.

Easy Foods To Eat With Broken Arm

Thankfully, some easy foods are available to eat with the broken arm.

Soups

Pureed soup may be the easiest option for you if you can’t use both hands since one of them is out of service temporarily.

Not only does it take limited strength to make one from scratch, all thanks to the invention of food processors, but it is also easy to eat (or drink).

You can also make it easier by stocking up on store-bought soup that you can microwave- single-handedly. All you need to do in both cases is serve it to yourself in a bowl or mug, and Bon appetit!

Smoothies

The one invention that you will thank humanity for again and again for making your one-handed life a lot easier is, without doubt, a food processor. Another easy food it can put on your table is an effortless smoothie.

Not only does it not take any effort, but it is also a filling option to opt for that doubles as a delicious means to intake all the nutrients you need to heal your broken arm. You can always add fruit chunks to it and enjoy it for breakfast or as a snack.

Cereals and Oatmeal

Regarding no-cook food options, cereals and oatmeal are your best shots at easy foods. Not only are they an easy way to stay full, but you can also pay attention to the ingredients and get fortified cereals to ensure you’re taking a healing diet.

It is an easy-to-serve and easy-to-eat option if you have a broken arm, and you can enjoy different versions of it, so you don’t get bored.

For example, you can enjoy your cereal or oatmeal with almond milk or soy milk for a change or switch it up for a cereal bar.

Fruit

Fruit may sound tricky to eat with just one hand, but the only thing that makes it tricky is how to cut it since you can only use one arm.

To solve that problem and ensure you keep a healthy food option on your list, you can get some canned pre-cut fruits or fruits that don’t need to be cut- berries, bananas, apples, and a lot more fruits, for example. You don’t have to cook, and you don’t have any dishes to do either! How much easier can it be?

Instant Noodles

The next best food option in the list of easy foods to eat with a broken arm is, without a doubt, instant food. The best and most readily available and interesting one is instant noodles. Not only can you eat it with just one hand, but you can also make it just as quickly and in no time too, so you don’t have to waste your strength either,

All you need to do is go grocery shopping and find flavors you like the most, and then stock up. The next step is to throw one in boiling water with its seasoning sachet and sauces, and you’re all set to eat in the next 2 minutes!

Pasta

Pasta may not be as easy or instant to put on your table as instant noodles, but it is an easy option. And before you start to worry, no- it does not mean sous-chef style pasta with truffles and cheese shavings on top.

Since you won’t have as many hands to get the job done and possibly the cooking skills that a sous chef usually does, you will have to improvise by getting canned pasta sauce or asking a friend or a family member to make and freeze some for you.

All you need to do is boil your pasta, add it to your pasta sauce and eat heartily!

Canned or Frozen Food

Another easy option to make your life easier as you spend your days with one less arm than usual is store-bought canned or frozen veggies, beans, or legumes. They are a healthy food option that is also easy to eat.

All you need to do is throw them in a pot- single-handedly or microwave them to make it even easier, and enjoy them with another easy food or just by themselves. Whatever floats the boat of your taste buds!

Baked Goodies

Muffins, donuts, cookies, bagels, pies, and whatnot- the list is huge when you consider the world of deliciousness that is baked goodies. They satisfy your stomach and taste buds when you can’t attend to their needs with a broken arm.

You can make a trip to a nearby grocery store or your favorite bakery and get your favorite baked items that won’t go bad and can be stored for a few days to keep you from the trouble of having to make multiple trips in the next few days. But make sure to keep your sugar intake in check!

Pizza

For all we know, the only place that doesn’t have pizza by now is probably Mars and all of its neighboring planets. It is the one food that will be within a 40-minute food delivery radius wherever you go, and all the ingredients you need to make one can also be found at every grocery store.

So on the days when your broken arm has managed to frustrate you more than usual, or even when you’re too tired and want a cheat day, you can always order in. Or, if you’re in the mood to keep yourself busy, you can always get yourself some pre-made dough, pizza sauce, and your favorite toppings, and let your oven do the rest!

Sandwiches

The range you get with sandwiches is mindblowing, which is what you need to cheer yourself up when your broken arm has been giving you too much trouble.

You can get some bread, pre-cut veggies, and other fillings of your choice- or even just the classic peanut butter. And jelly that won’t take you more than a few minutes to assemble, even with just one hand!

Hot Dogs

Hot dogs are undoubtedly an age-old American staple food that everyone loves. You can enjoy them wherever you want and whenever you want. And is the comfort food of many. This is part of why this is an option on this list.

So whenever your one-armed life has frustrated you enough because of the tests, you face daily, allow yourself to enjoy a hot dog. It won’t discriminate against people with any number of arms. All you need is one arm and a watering mouth to enjoy it to your fullest.

Note

A broken arm may make you rediscover life. You have to figure out a way around every tiny little task that you could have probably managed with closed eyes when life was good, and all the 206 bones in your body were intact.
